His will be done - only as we abide in His LOVE
If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. John 15:10.
Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me. John 14:24.
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. 4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? I John 5:1-5.
And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 Whoever says I know him but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, 5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may be sure that we are in him: 6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked. I John 2:3-6.Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:9-10.
Our Father in heaven,
Your Word tells us that whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
How did Your Son walk?
Did He not walk here on earth as He did in heaven?
Did He not walk by abiding in You?
Did He not walk by abiding in Your love?
Did He not walk in obedience to Your commandments?
Did He not walk perfectly in Your will for Him here on earth?
Did He not walk the words He prayed, "Not my will, but Yours, be done."Was not Your love perfected in Your Son?
We have been born of You. You have loved us and made us Your sons and daughters.
When You loved us, You gave us the Spirit of Your Son so we might walk here on earth as He did in heaven.
When You loved us, You gave us the Spirit of Your Son so we might abide in You.
When You loved us, You gave us the Spirit of Your Son so we might abide in Your love.
When You loved us, You gave us the Spirit of Your Son so we might obey Your commandments.
When You loved us, You gave us the Spirit of Your Son to walk perfectly in Your will for us here on earth.
When You loved us, You gave us the Spirit of Your Son to walk the words we pray, "Not my will, but Yours, be done."Is Your love being perfected in us?
We love You, Father. We have come to love You only because You first loved us. We confess we do not always walk as ought. We do not walk in the way of Your Son. We do not walk here on earth as He did in heaven. We do not abide in You. We do not abide in Your love. We do not obey Your commandments. We do not walk perfectly in Your will for us here on earth. We do not walk in Your will but instead choose to walk in our own wills. We confess we do not walk in obedience to the Spirit of Your Son. Your love is not being perfected in us as it was in Your Son. Forgive us for our disobedience. Forgive us for being a reproach to Your Name. Forgive us for grieving Your Spirit.
As Your love has been bestowed on us, we cannot continue in sin. As we have been born of You, we cannot continue in sin. To sin is against the nature of Your Holy Spirit who dwells in us. As Your Kingdom children, having been born of incorruptible seed and having that seed abiding in us, we cannot continue to resist Your will for us.
Our Father, so often we ask You for power to overcome sin and power to walk in Your will for us, but let us not forget the power for us to walk in Your will for us comes through the love of Christ, the love that died for us on the cross to make us children of God. We confess that we need to be revived and renewed from our dryness and deadness. We need Your love to be poured out once again into our lives so Your love might once again constrain and capture our affections, mind and will. We need Your love so we might abide in Your love and walk as Jesus Christ walked, as the perfect Son who was wholly submissive to Your will for Him.
For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; 15 and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised. I Corinthians 5:14-15.
Only as Christ's love controls us will we no longer live for ourselves but for Him who for our sake died and was raised.
Only as Christ's love controls us will we walk in the same way He walked.
Only as Christ's love controls us will we abide in You.
Only as Christ's love controls us will be abide in Your love.
Only as Christ's love controls us will we obey Your commandments.
Only as Christ's love controls us will we walk perfectly in Your will for us here on earth.
Only as Christ's love controls us will we walk the words we pray, ""Not my will, but Yours, be done."
Only as Christ's love controls us will we no longer live here on earth for our own kingdoms but for Your heavenly Kingdom.
Only as Christ's love controls us will we no longer live here on earth for our own will but for Your will.
Only as Christ's love controls us will we walk in the same way He walked.
Only as Christ's love controls us will we no longer live for own wills but for the will of Him for died for our sake and was raised.Only as Your love controls us will Your Kingdom come.
Only as Your love controls us will Your will be done in and through us as it is in heaven.O, Father, how we need to know more and more the love of Christ! How we need to be fulled with all the fullness of God! Would you please show Your mercy and grace and love to us and pour out Your love upon us and into us in a way we've never experienced before? We are nothing without Your love. We can do nothing without Your love.
For this reason let us bow our knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant us to be strengthened with power through our Spirit in our inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith—that we, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that we may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
–Ephesians 3:14-21 (adapted)Only as we abide in Your love will we walk in the same way our Lord walked.
Only as we abide in Your love will we see Your commandments are not burdensome.
Only as we abide in Your love will we keep Your commandments.
Only as we abide in Your love will we overcome the world.
Only as we abide in Your love will we hallow Your Name.
Only as we abide in Your love will we be part of Your Kingdom come to earth.
Only as we abide in Your love will we be part of Your will being done here on earth as it is in heaven.
Only as we abide in Your love will we walk in the same way our Lord walked.
Only as we abide in Your love is Your love perfected in us.
Come before the Father and ask Him to take you into a deeper knowledge of Christ's love for you.

Father, You say in your Word that it is a good thing to lay down one's own life for his/her friends. Only how can people in the same church fellowship be very friendly when they're biting and devouring each other over small things?? Forgive us for playing needless mind-games and mis-treating each other. Forgive us for the missed opportunities when we should have been building each other up in agape love. Forgive us for jumping to wrong conclusions about a brother/sister without knowing the facts. Wherever possible, let all bitterness between Your true servants be removed-never to come back up again.
In Jesus' Name
Amen
