update

  • update on blogging / update: inward distress and outward opportunity

I've not blogged here for quite some time. Since last fall, I had been double posting both here and on my WordPress.com site (http://zechariah821.wordpress.com). To explain, I would first post a blog here on this site on Xanga, and then I would copy that post over to my WordPress site (which is a copy of this site, except I couldn't get the same tent of meeting name, hence the name Zechariah821, named after the Scripture:

Zechariah 8:21  The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, ‘Let us go at once to entreat the favor of the LORD and to seek the LORD of hosts; I myself am going.’ 22  Many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of the LORD.)

But now, in lieu of double posting and in the interest of simplifying and streamlining things, so long as I have my account paid here (through October 2014, I believe), I'll be blogging on my Zechariah821 site at WordPress.com, and then I'll come over here and post a link to those posts. Along with many Xangans, I had been hoping Xanga would make a go of things, so my decision comes as there's been very little activity in terms of site improvement here on Xanga – well over 6 months after the transition to Xanga 2.0.

If you've not already done so, and you'd like to follow my Zechariah821 blog, you are more than welcome to do so. Just click here to visit the blog, and you'll find options to sign up for emails and RSS feeds on the left-hand side of the blog; or, if you're already on WordPress.com, you can opt to follow me there.

Anyhow, I've included below a link to my latest update on Zechariah821, which explains some of what I've been up to and why I've not posted lately... (BTW:  If you follow my other blog on Xanga ~ naphtali-deer  you've already read some about this... please see my post here.)

    Here's a little snippet...

Over these past few years, given my sinful propensity to impetuousness and impatience, I have striven not to rush forward, but have sought to be very cautious as to how to I might proceed to express the zeal God has granted me, that it might be given outlet in a God-directed and God-honoring manner. And, all the while, my inward distress and groanings over the current state of the Bride of Christ have continued to intensify ~ Jeremiah 9:1-2.

And now, over the past few months, God has graciously presented an outward opportunity to work publicly for reformation, a change for the better. Just as Jesus came to the temple and brought the Biblical plumb line to bear: “It is written,” I have been privileged to do likewise...

    Psalm 80:
14 Turn again, O God of hosts!
Look down from heaven, and see; have regard for this vine,
15 the stock that your right hand planted,
and for the son whom you made strong for yourself.

Yours in Christ, for the reforming and reviving of His Church,
    Karen

  • New WordPress site: Zechariah821

Earlier today (July 29) I imported my tent of meeting Xanga blog to WordPress:

    http://zechariah821.wordpress.com

That blog is still in need of editing for formatting, etc., but things are in place now in case Xanga doesn't continue (for more on what's happening with Xanga see here and here - plus the latest update as of July 31, 2013 here.)

[EDIT] / * AUGUST 1, 2013 UPDATE ON XANGA * Since Xanga did raise the needed funds, it seems what they're calling Xanga 2.0 will be a go, so, Lord willing, I'll be continuing to blog here at tent of meeting. There will be a time of transition near the end of August, so I'd encourage you to bookmark my WordPress address above. /

As I'd mentioned previously, the tent of meeting name was already in use at WordPress, so it took me a while to deliberate and pray over what name I might use, and I decided on Zechariah 8:21. You can read more about that in my first WordPress post here:  "Welcome to Zechariah 8:21."

In the sidebar on my Zechariah821 site, you can find RSS information as well as an e-mail sign-up form; if you're already on WordPress you can follow me there. Since it appears Xanga will be continuing, I've committed to blog here for another year. (I'm suspecting I'll end up double-posting on both sites, but we'll have to see about that.)

I don't think I'll be posting any more on this Xanga site between now and the July 31 deadline, so please be sure to make note of my new WordPress site information... (FYI: as you feel led, please check out my other WordPress sites: naphtalideer.wordpress.com and deerlifetrumpet.wordpress.com ([EDIT] updated August 2: please note the change in site address in the latter), as well as my other site here on Xanga: naphtali_deer.xanga.com.)

Whether I end up blogging here or on WordPress, may my God strengthen me to continue to seek His face for the outpouring of His Holy Spirit (Isaiah 44:1-5) for the blessing of the God's people to the glory of God.

Yours in Christ, blessed beyond all measure to be accepted in the Beloved by His grace alone,
    Karen

  • important announcement re: tent of meeting & possible Xanga shutdown - updated 8/3/13

     PLEASE NOTE! - UPDATED August 3, 2013

From the looks of things, since Xanga's fundraising goal was met (link), it seems Xanga 2.0 will be a go, and Lord willing, I'll be continuing blogging at this site. (Please also see The Xanga Team's latest update here for more information.)

It's likely that sometime later in August or in early September, there may be a period of downtime while Xanga is ported over to the WordPress platform, so please make note of my WordPress addresses below, so you can keep in touch.

    PLEASE NOTE! - UPDATED July 29, 2013

Earlier today, I imported my tent of meeting blog over to WordPress at this site:

    http://zechariah821.wordpress.com

For more information, please see my post New WordPress site: Zechariah 8:21.

    ~ Karen

Due to upcoming changes here at Xanga, tent_of_meeting may not be continuing at Xanga after July 15 31, 2013. (For more information on what's happening with Xanga, please see the last portion of my post here). If Xanga shuts down, Lord willing, I hope to export this blog over to a site on WordPress (site still TBD), and I will announce that information in a future post here.

But in the meantime, please be sure to keep in touch with me via my WordPress blog for the latest updates and information:

I'm still hoping to blog here within the next week, but I did want to give you a heads-up since the July 15 31 date is closing in on us rather quickly now.

Thank you to each one of you who have visited this site. May our God strengthen His people to persevere in prayer at His throne of grace, that we might be importunate watchmen praying day and night for Him to rend the heavens, and may our merciful Good Shepherd have pity upon us, and give ear and shine forth upon us in these dark days ~ Psalm 80.

    ~ Karen

"he called it the tent of meeting..."

I am burdened to pray to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ for the reformation and reviving of Christ's church.

The phrase tent of meeting comes from Exodus 33:7: Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far off from the camp, and he called it the tent of meeting. And everyone who sought the Lord would go out to the tent of meeting, which was outside the camp.

This site is devoted to God first and foremost. In all that is done here, my prayer is that God is glorified and His Name magnified and Christ and Him crucified is lifted up so He might be preeminent and God might receive all the praise, honor and glory due His Holy Name. All who have come to a saving knowledge of our Father by grace through faith in the all-sufficient sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ are welcome to enter this tent of meeting to seek the Lord.

This blog is a place for all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ to come and seek God's face for revival. My intention is for this tent of meeting to be a holy place where we can enter into PRAYER together to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, as the Holy Spirit leads you, please enter into prayer either here (think of "comments" as prayers) or on your own.

Habakkuk 3:2 O LORD, I have heard the report of you, and your work, O LORD, do I fear. In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.
