  • A SIMPLE PRAYER (from biblerapture)

At tent of meeting we've been reflecting on and praying about Jesus' words to the seven churches in Revelation 2 and 3.

Yesterday I shared how I've asked many of the friends and subscribers of tent of meeting to pray about writing a prayer related to Revelation 2-3 that I might post here. Here is the first of those prayers.

Today's prayer is from biblerapture (Jim) and was originally posted here.

This prayer is based on Jesus' words to the Church at Philadelphia in Revelation 3.

And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: The words of the holy one, the true one, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens. 8 I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. 9 Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet and they will learn that I have loved you. 10 Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth. 11 I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown. 12 The one who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name. 13 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

    –Revelation 3:7-13

    A SIMPLE PRAYER

Lord God. Father God. Son of God. God the Son. Creator of the Universe. Thank You and Praise You for being so patient with us. We sin against You. We outright ignore your warnings that You Yourself laid down so many centuries ago. Your prophetic words in your Revelation although spoken to John so many years ago by your Spirit still speak to us today. We see the twofold meaning in those words.

We hold onto what You spoke to the church in Philadelphia promising that 'since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live upon the earth'. You Word is spoken and is a bond not to be broken.

You are warning and warning us through so many of your people throughout this world You created that Your judgment is coming. Your wrath is coming. We see the signs you have spoken coming alive around us. We are not only in "the Last Days", we are quickly becoming part of them. We know You are warning us so we will be prepared to help others who do not know you yet. Come Lord Jesus. You and You alone are our only Hope.

    In Jesus Name, Amen.

Brothers and sisters, please add your prayers below as God's Holy Spirit leads you.

  • Lord, I really enjoy reading about your wonderful church in Philadelphia. They are role models for us in the USA. It was so nice to see You compliment them for their wonderfully humble attitude. Help us here in America to keep Your Word and not deny Your Name---how could we? How could any Believer or church of Yours? amen

  • Faithful Father, Son and Spirit,

Help us to patiently endure. Help us to hold fast what we have. Help us to speak of Your coming as a comfort to those who already know You. Help us to speak of Your coming as a warning to those who do not know You. By Your mercies to us, we offer ourselves to You to speak for You. Send us to those whose minds the god of this age has yet blinded. Use us to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among us who are sanctified by faith in You. You showed Your mercy and grace to us. While we were yet in darkness, You chose to shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of You in the face of Jesus Christ. May You shine the light of the gospel of the glory of Jesus Christ on those who are yet in darkness, that they might not perish but have eternal life. We remind You of Your promise that You are not willing that any should perish but all might come to repentance. We know You are only tarrying in returning because You are longsuffering. There are still sheep that need to be brought into Your fold. Use us in Your great plan of redemption to call each and every sheep home to You. Open our mouths to speak glad tidings, Your good news of great joy, to proclaim that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only hope of the world.

    Amen.

"he called it the tent of meeting..."

I am burdened to pray to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ for the reformation and reviving of Christ's church.

The phrase tent of meeting comes from Exodus 33:7: Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far off from the camp, and he called it the tent of meeting. And everyone who sought the Lord would go out to the tent of meeting, which was outside the camp.

This site is devoted to God first and foremost. In all that is done here, my prayer is that God is glorified and His Name magnified and Christ and Him crucified is lifted up so He might be preeminent and God might receive all the praise, honor and glory due His Holy Name. All who have come to a saving knowledge of our Father by grace through faith in the all-sufficient sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ are welcome to enter this tent of meeting to seek the Lord.

This blog is a place for all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ to come and seek God's face for revival. My intention is for this tent of meeting to be a holy place where we can enter into PRAYER together to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, as the Holy Spirit leads you, please enter into prayer either here (think of "comments" as prayers) or on your own.

Habakkuk 3:2 O LORD, I have heard the report of you, and your work, O LORD, do I fear. In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.
