  • "Let your hands be strong" (Zechariah 8:9-13)

    Zechariah 8:9 “Thus says the LORD of hosts:

          ‘Let your hands be strong,
          You who have been hearing in these days
          These words by the mouth of the prophets,
          Who spoke in the day the foundation was laid
          For the house of the LORD of hosts,
          That the temple might be built.
           10 For before these days
          There were no wages for man nor any hire for beast;
          There was no peace from the enemy for whoever went out or came in;
          For I set all men, everyone, against his neighbor.

    11 But now I will not treat the remnant of this people as in the former days,’ says the LORD of hosts.

          12‘For the seed shall be prosperous,
          The vine shall give its fruit,
          The ground shall give her increase,
          And the heavens shall give their dew—
          I will cause the remnant of this people
          To possess all these.

          13 And it shall come to pass
          That just as you were a curse among the nations,
          O house of Judah and house of Israel,
          So I will save you, and you shall be a blessing.
          Do not fear,
          Let your hands be strong.’

    Isaiah 25:4
    For You have been a strength to the poor,
    A strength to the needy in his distress,
    A refuge from the storm,
    A shade from the heat;
    For the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

    Isaiah 26:1
    In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah:

          We have a strong city;
          God will appoint salvation for walls and bulwarks.
           2 Open the gates,
          That the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in.
           3 You will keep him in perfect peace,
          Whose mind is stayed on You,
          Because he trusts in You.
          4 Trust in the LORD forever,
          For in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength.

    LORD God,

    You have told us to let our hands be strong. But we know in and of ourselves we have no strength. We confess and openly acknowledge we have no strength apart from what You provide. We are poor. Be our strength. We are needy. Be our strength. Our strength will always fail, but Yours will always prevail because it is everlasting because You are the everlasting God, You are everlasting strength, Your strength is everlasting strength.

    When we are tempted to trust in and rely on our own strength, show us our poverty and neediness so we might once again turn to You and cry out for You to be our strength. Trusting in ourselves will only lead to weakness and failure. But as we trust in You and acknowledge our poverty and neediness before You, You have promised to strengthen us, to be our strength, our everlasting strength. You are trustworthy. Strengthen us to trust in You forever for Your love for us endures forever. You are from everlasting to everlasting, You are the Rock of Ages.

    In our poverty and weakness may we come to know You and Your strength in greater measure. Be our refuge and shade. Keep our minds stayed on You so we might know Your perfect peace at all times. Strengthen us to trust in You, to trust in You forever, everlasting strength, YAH, the LORD.

"he called it the tent of meeting..."

I am burdened to pray to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ for the reformation and reviving of Christ's church.

The phrase tent of meeting comes from Exodus 33:7: Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far off from the camp, and he called it the tent of meeting. And everyone who sought the Lord would go out to the tent of meeting, which was outside the camp.

This site is devoted to God first and foremost. In all that is done here, my prayer is that God is glorified and His Name magnified and Christ and Him crucified is lifted up so He might be preeminent and God might receive all the praise, honor and glory due His Holy Name. All who have come to a saving knowledge of our Father by grace through faith in the all-sufficient sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ are welcome to enter this tent of meeting to seek the Lord.

This blog is a place for all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ to come and seek God's face for revival. My intention is for this tent of meeting to be a holy place where we can enter into PRAYER together to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, as the Holy Spirit leads you, please enter into prayer either here (think of "comments" as prayers) or on your own.

Habakkuk 3:2 O LORD, I have heard the report of you, and your work, O LORD, do I fear. In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.
