tent of meeting

  • update on tent of meeting | even so, come Lord Jesus, come!

I would like to thank all of you have come to tent of meeting to seek God's face and pray for the restoration, reformation and revival of Christ's church. When I began tent of meeting, I had originally intended to devote the days up until Pentecost Sunday this year to times of prayer here. I've now decided God is leading me to continue on with this blog. (You can read more about that here.)

    Fear not, for I am with you;
I will bring your offspring from the east,
and from the west I will gather you.
6 I will say to the north, Give up,
    and to the south, Do not withhold;
    bring my sons from afar
and my daughters from the end of the earth,
7 everyone who is called by my name,
whom I created for my glory,
    whom I formed and made.

10 You are my witnesses, declares the Lord,
and my servant whom I have chosen,
that you may know and believe me
and understand that I am he.
Before me no god was formed,
nor shall there be any after me.
    11 I, I am the Lord,
and besides me there is no savior.
12 I declared and saved and proclaimed,
    when there was no strange god among you;
and you are my witnesses, declares the Lord, and I am God.

18 Remember not the former things,
nor consider the things of old.
    19 Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
    and rivers in the desert.
20 The wild beasts will honor me,
    the jackals and the ostriches,
for I give water in the wilderness,
    rivers in the desert,
to give drink to my chosen people,
21 the people whom I formed for myself
that they might declare my praise.

    (Isaiah 43:5-7, 10-12, 18-21)

Even so, come, Lord Jesus, come!

Even so, come, Lord Jesus, come and show us that we have been created by You for Your glory alone. Hallelujah!

Even so, come, Lord Jesus, come and do a new thing! Give us eyes to see that even now You have come and a new thing is springing forth. Hallelujah!

Even so, come, Lord Jesus, come and give water in the wilderness and rivers in the desert! Give us a thirst that only Your living water can slake! Hallelujah!

Even so, come, Lord Jesus, come and baptize us again with Your holy fire and send us out into the world to be Your witnesses! Hallelujah!

Even so, come, Lord Jesus, come and baptize us again with Your holy fire and put Your praises in our mouths! Hallelujah!

Even so, come, Lord Jesus, come and speak through us that You are the Lord and You are God and besides You there is no Savior! Hallelujah!

Even so, come, Lord Jesus, come and fill the earth with the knowledge of Your glory as the waters cover the sea! Hallelujah!

Even so, come, Lord Jesus, come and gather Your sons and daughters from the east, west, north and south! Hallelujah!

Even so, come, Lord Jesus, come!

Please enter into the tent of meeting and lift up your prayers to Him now as His Spirit leads you...
  • About this blog - why "tent of meeting"?

I am burdened to pray to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ for restoration, reformation and revival of Christ's church. I wrote more about this on my other site here.

WHY THE NAME "TENT OF MEETING"?

The phrase "tent of meeting" comes from Exodus 33:7:

Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far off from the camp, and he called it the tent of meeting. And everyone who sought the Lord would go out to the tent of meeting, which was outside the camp.

At this time presence of the Lord had left Israel and Moses and all who sought the Lord went to the tent of meeting.

    WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?

If you so love God and His Church,

if you are burdened about the current state of Christ's Church and weep over her,

if you see that the Church is in great need and the plans, programs and efforts of men are not sufficient,

if God is putting in you an increasing burden to seek Him and to lift up the Church in prayer

as God so leads you . . .

I invite you to join me in coming boldly to His throne

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:15-16.

This site is devoted to God first and foremost. In all that is done here, my prayer is that God is glorified and His Name magnified and Christ and Him crucified is lifted up so He might be preeminent and God might receive all the praise, honor and glory due His Holy Name. All who have been born again into His family by His Holy Spirit, all who have come to a saving knowledge of our Father by grace through faith in the all-sufficient and necessary sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, all who have stopped working to earn their salvation and have entered into His rest, are welcome to enter this tent of meeting to seek the Lord.

WHAT WILL THIS "TENT OF MEETING" LOOK LIKE?

My hope and prayer is that it will contain the prayers and praises of the children of God crying out to our Father who is in heaven. When we come to His throne, we bring glory to Him. The privilege of prayer was bought for us at the cross of Calvary and as we avail ourselves of this means of grace, we bring glory to God and to His Son Jesus Christ. Let us remember that even today Jesus is interceding for us. Will we not tarry in prayer along with Him in our time of need?

When I say children of God, please remember that the flock of Jesus Christ knows no such thing as denominational boundaries. Any who love the Lord Jesus and have been washed in His blood and confess Him as Lord and Savior are welcome to come. Though I confess I am not a student of revival, I do know one of the common threads we find in revivals is that people from all parts of the Christian Church banded together to pray. They were no longer concerned about what divided them but were led to seek God's face together. [edit 2.8.2010: Regarding this I ask you prayerfully read my post here about our need to be holy in doctrine and behavior.]

As we come together, let us always keep in mind we are to be all about lifting up Christ and Him crucified and showing forth His Gospel of grace. As we keep that in mind, we will more and more keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

At this point, I'm thinking I will post a prayer, psalm, hymn, song lyric, Scripture and/or excerpt as a call to prayer most days. I welcome any and all who wish to come to read those prayers and add their prayers to those as God leads you to do so.

PLEASE NOTE: Unlike a regular blog, I do not wish there to be comments back and forth between the commenters, other than perhaps an Amen. I know we want to affirm one another, but I wish for us to view this blog as a means of looking upward to the God of heaven. In that sense, you will read/hear the prayers and praises of others, but as you respond, the appropriate response will be prayer and praise. Think of this site as a prayer meeting. During a prayer meeting at your church building, after someone prays would you begin to commend them for what they prayed? No. You would merely say something like, "Amen. Lord, I agree with so and so," and then you would continue on in a spirit of prayer with your own prayer to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. And I wish the atmosphere to be the same here. A spirit of prayer. Not discussion. We are here to pray.

HOW LONG WILL THIS "TENT OF MEETING" REMAIN OPEN?

As the Lord wills, I wish to devote the days leading up to Pentecost this year to times of prayer on this blog. If God directs us to shut it down sooner, we will do that. If He directs we continue to pray beyond that time, we will do that. [EDIT: 6/1/2009 - I am intending to continue in prayer here, so long as the Lord leads. Please read more about that here.]

    I HAVE MORE QUESTIONS...

Yes, and so do I! I am trusting God will make the way clear for all of us. God has been taking me and leading me by His hand step by step and putting me in a place I would not have imagined just a couple months ago. So things are not all clear to me yet, but I am stepping out in faith, I am putting my foot in the Jordan, and am anticipating and waiting on Him to make the way clear.

About your questions...I suspect many of you do have questions and will have questions.

If you have specific questions that I've not addressed here, please message me and I will attempt to answer them either in a private message and/or a future post.

    WHAT CAN YOU DO?

As God leads you, would you lift this site up in prayer, that He would protect our desire to pray and give us a greater hunger to seek Him that He alone might receive the glory for all that is done here?

As God leads you, please read the prayers posted here and add your prayers. May our prayers rise up as a sweet incense to our God!

    Thank you.

Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory,
for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!
    Psalm 115:1

"he called it the tent of meeting..."

I am burdened to pray to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ for the reformation and reviving of Christ's church.

The phrase tent of meeting comes from Exodus 33:7: Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far off from the camp, and he called it the tent of meeting. And everyone who sought the Lord would go out to the tent of meeting, which was outside the camp.

This site is devoted to God first and foremost. In all that is done here, my prayer is that God is glorified and His Name magnified and Christ and Him crucified is lifted up so He might be preeminent and God might receive all the praise, honor and glory due His Holy Name. All who have come to a saving knowledge of our Father by grace through faith in the all-sufficient sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ are welcome to enter this tent of meeting to seek the Lord.

This blog is a place for all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ to come and seek God's face for revival. My intention is for this tent of meeting to be a holy place where we can enter into PRAYER together to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, as the Holy Spirit leads you, please enter into prayer either here (think of "comments" as prayers) or on your own.

Habakkuk 3:2 O LORD, I have heard the report of you, and your work, O LORD, do I fear. In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.
