Thy Kingdom come

  • Kingdom Day of Prayer

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come.

    –Matthew 6:9-10, KJV

And the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.

    –Luke 1:30-33

So Pilate entered his headquarters again and called Jesus and said to him, Are you the King of the Jews? 34 Jesus answered, Do you say this of your own accord, or did others say it to you about me? 35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered you over to me. What have you done? 36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world. 37 Then Pilate said to him, So you are a king? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.

    –John 18:33-37

    It has been testified somewhere,
What is man, that you are mindful of him,
or the son of man, that you care for him?
    7 You made him for a little while lower than the angels;
you have crowned him with glory and honor,
8 putting everything in subjection under his feet.

Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. At present, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him. 9 But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

    –Hebrews 2:5-9

    Psalm 20 (adapted)

May the Lord answer us in the day of trouble!
May the name of the God of Jacob protect us!
2 May he send us help from the sanctuary
and give us support from Zion!
3 May he remember all our offerings
and regard with favor our burnt sacrifices! Selah
4 May he grant us our heart's desire
    and fulfill all our plans!
5 May we shout for joy over his salvation,
and in the name of our God set up our banners!
May the Lord fulfill all our petitions!
    6 Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed;
he will answer him from his holy heaven
with the saving might of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
    8 They collapse and fall,
but we rise and stand upright.
9 O Lord, save the king!
May he answer us when we call.

    O King of kings,

Though Your Spirit we have been birthed into Your Kingdom

We forget You are our King.
We forget You are King over all the earth.
We forget all power and authority have been given to You.
We forget You are seated at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
We forget all things are under Your control.
We forget Your Kingdom is not from this world.
We forget Your Kingdom is not of this world.
We forget Your Kingdom will have no end.
We forget Your Kingdom is forever.
    We forget.

You alone are King of all the earth.
You alone are King of all kings.
You alone are Lord of all lords.

We confess we often trust in earthly kings to protect us and send us help.
We confess we often trust in chariots and horses.

Forgive us, O King of kings!

Earthly kings will collapse and fall.
Chariots and horses will collapse and fall.
    Because You alone are King.
We will collapse and fall unless we trust in You, O King.

You alone are King of all the earth.
You alone are King of all kings.
You alone are Lord of all lords.

You are King of all the chariots and horses.

    You alone are our protector.
    You alone are our help.
    You alone are our support.

You alone are King of all the earth.
You alone are King of all kings.
You alone are Lord of all lords.

Let us cry out to You alone in the day of trouble.
You will answer when we call.

Let us cry out to You alone in the day of peace.
You will answer us when we call.

You alone are King of all the earth.
You alone are King of all kings.
You alone are Lord of all lords.

We will rise and stand upright only as we trust in You alone.

Blessed are we when we take refuge in You and You alone.
For Yours is the Kingdom, the power and the glory forever.

You alone are King of all the earth.
You alone are King of all kings.
You alone are Lord of all lords.

...Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come.

To the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
    –Jude 25

    Amen.

    As His Spirit leads you...
Come prayerfully into the King's presence and confess how you have not relied on Him alone,
Ascribe to Him all praise, honor and glory which is due Him for He alone is King.

  • Let us proclaim Thy Kingdom has come

Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, 29 for our God is a consuming fire.

    –Hebrews 12:28-29

    O God, our King,

Thank you for bringing the Kingdom of God into our hearts by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Thank You that Your Kingdom has come to us.

    We are being shaken today.
Our personal kingdoms are being shaken today.
The kingdoms of this world are being shaken today.

We are grateful we have received Your Kingdom which cannot be shaken.
It is right to give You thanks and praise, O King, that Your Kingdom has come to us.

You tell us to encourage our brothers and sisters with the words of Your Kingdom which cannot be shaken.
It is right to uphold one another with the reminders that Your Kingdom has come and it is unshakable.

    But

let us not only speak to You of this Kingdom which cannot be shaken,
let us not only speak to those who have already received this Kingdom which cannot be shaken.

Freely we have received Your Kingdom, freely we are to give it.

    Therefore

let us proclaim Thy Kingdom has come,
let us proclaim Your Kingdom is unshakable.

Souls who have not yet received Your Kingdom are being shaken today.
Their personal kingdoms are being shaken today.
The kingdoms of this world are being shaken today.

And one Day You will shake all things and only Your Kingdom will remain.

May we bring the good news of Your Kingdom which cannot be shaken to souls which are being shaken so they might stand firm in that Day of shaking, that Day of judgment.

We have found grace in Your eyes...

Do we watch souls drown as we sit dry in the ark of Jesus?
Do we watch souls burn as we sit cool outside Sodom and Gomorrah?
Do we watch souls succumb to the death angel while we sit inside our houses?
Do we watch souls go to hell while we sit untouched in our church buildings?

We have found grace in Your eyes...

Do we not preach righteousness like Noah even though many will mock us?
Do we not travel in pursuit of the lost as Abram did when he went to rescue Lot?
Do we not go out and tell them of the saving blood of Your Son?
Do we not weep over those who are dying and ask You to send us?

Father, as You sent Jesus, You have sent us out into a world of lost and dying souls.

Lord, Jesus, may we have compassion on those who have not received Your Kingdom.
There are multitudes today who do not know You and Your unshakable Kingdom.
There are multitudes who are weary and scattered like sheep without a shepherd.
They don't know the rest and peace the Good Shepherd has come to give them.
They don't know the Lamb who was slain for their sin.
They don't know You because they've not received Your Kingdom.
They don't know You because many have not even heard of Your Kingdom.

Holy Spirit, give us the eyes of Jesus to see the multitudes.
Holy Spirit, give us the heart of Jesus so we might be moved with compassion.
Holy Spirit, give us the mouth of Jesus to preach the Gospel.
Holy Spirit, give us unashamed courage to proclaim "The Kingdom of heaven is at hand."
Holy Spirit, give us the hands of Jesus to heal.
Holy Spirit, give us the knees of Jesus who bent to wash feet.
Holy Spirit, give us the burden of Jesus to weep over lost souls in our cities.

Our Father, we confess we are often afraid and timid, or lethargic and uncaring. Put Your heart in us to have compassion for lost souls. Grant us boldness to speak to lost souls of Your unshakable Kingdom, Your Kingdom which has come, of saving grace of You have made available to us through the cross of Christ. Stretch forth Your hand to heal and that signs and wonders would be done through the name of Jesus.

    The apostle Paul wrote:

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes...

May we not be ashamed of it.
May we not be ashamed of You.

For there is no other power, no other way under heaven, no other name, no other mediator, no other way by which men can be saved but by the Lord Jesus Christ.

Empower us, strengthen us, embolden us, fill us with Your Spirit so we might proclaim Thy Kingdom has come to a lost world...

Prayerfully come before God now and ask Him where He wants you to proclaim His Kingdom has come.
And ask Him to provide all You need to do so and then trust by faith that He will do it.

  • After we wander, the King sends us to feed His sheep

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come...

When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these? He said to him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you. He said to him, Feed my lambs. 16 He said to him a second time, Simon, son of John, do you love me? He said to him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you. He said to him, Tend my sheep. 17 He said to him the third time, Simon, son of John, do you love me? Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, Do you love me? and he said to him, Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my sheep.

    –John 21:15-17.

    Our Father and King,

You send us out to preach the Kingdom of God, so we might be a part of Your Kingdom coming to earth.

You send us out to live out the Kingdom of God, so we might be a part of Your Kingdom coming to earth.

As Your people we are to be Your instruments in bringing Your Kingdom to earth.

We are to be part of the answer to our very prayer, "Thy Kingdom come."

But as we look at ourselves, our sin looms large.

    We are like Peter.

    We have wandered.

    We have denied You.

    We have sinned against You.

When we see our sin, we ask You, "How can I preach Your Kingdom when I don't live it as I ought? I am a sinner. My love for You is so faint and small."

And that is where Satan wants us to remain, mired in our sin and guilt, of no use in bringing Your Kingdom to Jerusalem, Judea and the uttermost ends of the earth.

We have sinned against You. Have mercy upon us for Jesus' sake.

Instead of hearing voices of accusation and condemnation, which bind us up and keep us from serving You in freedom, let us hear Your joy and gladness.

In Your merciful lovingkindness shown to us in the Lord Jesus Christ, You have promised when we confess our sins You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness because You are just and justifier. Christ died for our sins, all of them.

Part of Your Kingdom coming to earth, to us, is for us to confess our sins and to ask for and receive the forgiveness and cleansing You purchased for us through the blood of Christ.

We come to You through Jesus Christ and confess our sin to You today.

We do not take our sin lightly for You are a holy God.

We do not take our sin lightly for You, Father, gave Your Son to die for our sin.

We do not take our sin lightly for You, Jesus, had to become sin for us so we might become Your righteousness.

    Holy Father,

    We are like Peter.

    We have wandered.

    We have denied You.

    We have sinned against You.

But thanks be to God, You have sent Your Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. Your holiness and love and Your righteousness and peace have met in Jesus Christ. You are just and justifier. Your just wrath on us was satisfied in Jesus Christ. You are righteous to pass over our sin for Jesus' sake. We praise You for the free and full forgiveness, cleansing and reconciliation we have through Your Son Jesus Christ, through His shed blood and broken body.

We come to You through our Savior Jesus Christ and confess our sins to You.

We come to You through our Savior Jesus Christ and confess our sins to You because You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We come to You through our Savior Jesus Christ and ask that You forgive us our sins for Jesus' sake for You have said You will forgive us our sins.

We come to You through our Savior Jesus Christ and ask that You cleanse us of all unrighteousness for Jesus' sake for You have said You will cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We come to You through our Savior Jesus Christ because He died for our sins.

You have assured us that in Jesus Christ You will forgive us our sins.

You have assured us that in Jesus Christ You will cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

You have assured us that in Jesus Christ You will not deal with us as our sins deserve.

You have assured us that in Jesus Christ You will remember our sins no more.

You have assured us that in Jesus Christ as far as the east is from the west so far have You removed our transgressions from us.

You have assured us that in Jesus Christ there is therefore now no condemnation.

You have assured us that You have set forth Jesus Christ to be our atonement, the propitiation, the Lamb who was slain, whose blood was shed to take away our sin.

Holy Spirit, speak these truths about the atonement to our souls when we doubt the Father's love for us.

Holy Spirit, speak these truths to our souls when we doubt the sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice for us.

Holy Spirit, speak comfort and assurance to us that when we confess our sins God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Holy Spirit, speak comfort and assurance to us that when we confess our sins they are forgiven for Jesus' sake.

Holy Spirit, speak comfort and assurance to us that when we confess our sins we are cleansed from all unrighteousness for Jesus' sake.

Holy Spirit, speak comfort and assurance to us that when we confess our sins the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin and our fellowship with God and with one another is restored.

May we walk in the freedom from our sin, shame and guilt for which Christ has set us free, even though

    We are like Peter.

    We have wandered.

    We have denied You.

    We have sinned against You.

Holy God, our Father, as You forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness and restore us to fellowship, You send us out to feed Your lambs and tend Your sheep.

    We are like Peter.

    We have wandered.

    We have denied You.

    We have sinned against You.

But, like Peter, You have forgiven us and commissioned us and send us.

You send us out to preach the Kingdom of God.

You send us out to live out the Kingdom of God.

And we confess we do so only as saved sinners who have been washed in the cleansing fountain of Jesus' blood.

And we confess we do so only through the power of the cross made available to us through Your Holy Spirit.

Just as You took Peter and used Him, may You use us in our brokenness and imperfect love to preach and live out the Kingdom of God, so we might be Your instruments as part of the answer to our prayer, "Thy Kingdom come."

    Our Father and King,

Anoint us with Your power and send us out to preach the Kingdom of God, so we might be a part of Your Kingdom coming to earth.

Anoint us with Your power and send us out to live out the Kingdom of God, so we might be a part of Your Kingdom coming to earth.

Release us and unleash us into this world to be Your Kingdom come on this earth as it is in heaven.

The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. 16 But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life. 17 To the King of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

    –I Timothy 1:15-17

Jesus said to them again, Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you. 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit.

    –John 20:21-22
    Prayerfully come before Him.
Ask Him to show you your sin so you might confess it to Him and
take hold of His promised forgiveness and cleansing available through the cross of Christ.
Ask Him to send You out to be His Kingdom come in the world today.

"he called it the tent of meeting..."

I am burdened to pray to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ for the reformation and reviving of Christ's church.

The phrase tent of meeting comes from Exodus 33:7: Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far off from the camp, and he called it the tent of meeting. And everyone who sought the Lord would go out to the tent of meeting, which was outside the camp.

This site is devoted to God first and foremost. In all that is done here, my prayer is that God is glorified and His Name magnified and Christ and Him crucified is lifted up so He might be preeminent and God might receive all the praise, honor and glory due His Holy Name. All who have come to a saving knowledge of our Father by grace through faith in the all-sufficient sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ are welcome to enter this tent of meeting to seek the Lord.

This blog is a place for all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ to come and seek God's face for revival. My intention is for this tent of meeting to be a holy place where we can enter into PRAYER together to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, as the Holy Spirit leads you, please enter into prayer either here (think of "comments" as prayers) or on your own.

Habakkuk 3:2 O LORD, I have heard the report of you, and your work, O LORD, do I fear. In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.
